Day 28 EARTH A Circle of Love

Shine the light, from heart to heart, connect.

I loved this connection in the exercise today. This has been a wonderful journey. To be inspired and touched by all your journeys - to be recording my journey in this safe environment and sharing it in a safe circle, I thank you all for that.
A number of words entered by mental space during this journey and at the end I had a number of them posted at my desk. They inspired this, perhaps its a conscious list of my values or what has been stirred up inside me. It came out of me late last night and I thought it completed the journey beautifully for me.

Be respectful from this will come responsiveness and a spirit of communication and reciprocity
Be honest do what you do and let others do what they do
Be open give and you will receive
Be passionate temper your passion with grace and humility
Be fluid go with the flow, allow things to enter your flow and pass through as naturally as that happens in nature
Be judicious know what is right for you
Be strong stand tall, don’t be afraid, be willing to take it and it will come gently
Be vibrant make sure the lights are always on. Shine brightly in your thoughts and your actions
Be compassionate there is always a reason for pain and negativity, heal it with compassion
there is beauty in forgiveness
Discover uncover new territory, do it because you want to
Have joy living any other way disrespects this precious life we’ve been given to live
Be big wide, expansive, over reaching and extending beyond, reach reach reach it’s beautiful out there
Be a human soul we are not about man or woman or colour or creed, our souls are genderless, our souls are colourless
Be golden don’t do to others what you would not want them to do to you

I give love deeply and fully. I receive love deeply and fully.
My essence is love.

Day 27 EARTH Creating a Fabulous Future

Aaaaaahhh, the future. I see into the future with hope and optimism, grace and fearlessness like few people I know. I feel blessed with the gift. I have to remember that I must nurture this gift. For if I don't nurture it I begin to feel lost and lonely, pessimistic and hurt. With it - my ability to vision to see a bright future I am open, flowing, creative, a life force. The future feeds me. The future is my fuel.
My future is filled with love, joy, and peace!

Day 26 EARTH A Home for your Soul

I've haven't had nature in my house for a long time. Right now I'm not even living in my own house. The house where I do live is very safe. Where I grew up, where my mother and my father raised their children and where they now take care of my aging grandmother. This is a home full of love, life, caring, and healing. This is a home where God is honoured many many times a day. My grandmother observes all five daily prayers and my mother and I struggle to keep up with her commitment. It is a home where the holy scriptures are read daily. It is a healing home, a loving home. This is where souls come to heal, to grow, to nourish themselves. This is a home where the soul belongs. It is a blessing that I can be here.

I am at home no matter where I am.

Day 25 EARTH Awakening the Natural Forces Within You

Rhythm. I love rhythm. The rhythm of jazz. The rhythm of music. The rhythm of life.

The rhythm of goals, dreams and aspirations often get in the way of my natural rhythms.

I am fiercely ambitious. I am building a company. A company that stands for something. A company that is going to begin the change that we want to see in the world. A company that IS going to do it. So, this means that self-employed or not, the rhythm of change marches on and I march with it.

It feels good. Steely determination feels REAL GOOD to me. Arrrrgh.

I was at a client's office all day today, busy like a mad man, meetings all morning and phone calls all afternoon - then off in the car right into rush hour traffic to attend another client's holiday party where I schmoozed and networked and gave away my three drink tickets - I was a hero!
And then I came home. Came home to a ritual of prayer and then Reiki, it just felt right to do Reiki tonight. The first time I did it on anyone - on my Mom who has terrible feet that were really hurting her. I did Reiki for 10 minutes and then boom it hit me, a wave of energy that knocked me over, thank God I was sitting down. When I collected myself again I sat upright, legs crossed and held the most forceful energy ball I've felt so far. This is so way too cool!

So today, I didn't do any of the levels - hmm first day of the month that I skipped the levels. I was so inspired by your postings about the rhythms in your lives, so, thank you for that. Before bed tonight I will imagine myself in nature. aaaaah.....

I am in harmony with the natural rhythm of life.

Day 24 EARTH Using the Physiology of Your Body

So, my body is a little beat up right now. I think it was the Reiki atunement. My left side is a field of knots and I'm tired, really tired. I have been doing Reiki on myself this week and everyday I create an energy ball - that part is sooooo amazing to me.

My body is healthy and strong and I am so so so so grateful for it. No matter what, she is there for me. She responds to exercise so well, gaining muscle mass quickly and supporting me in everything I do. I believe my body exudes who I am. I just need to develop a trusting relationship with her. My mind has dominated by body self for too long! I'm on the path, I can feel it.

I celebrate Day 24 and wish you all strong healthy and vibrant bodies!

PS: my Reiki master said she found Reiki when she was diagnosed by fybromyalgia and she has healed herself with Reiki from that disease. Incredible.

MY BODY IS INCREDIBLY STRONG AND HEALTHY.

Day 23 EARTH Body Detox

My car had more of a body detox than I did today - took it in for an oil change and left with a new everything, that hurt the pocketbook!

I have found myself breathing deeply today. I drink lots of water, check. Eat lightly from food that have the life force, I did eat some veggies and a pear, check - but not as 'check' as I would like. Walk, dance, move your body and stretch, one check only. Oh well.

No dry brushing today, I had misplaced by hoarse hair scrubber but now it's found.

What I'm finding with this experience is that if I miss doing it one day I can always plan on doing it later.

It was great to read through all the levels, to look at food as cleansing or clogging is a great way to see it that I had never thought of before. Lots of good learning today.

My mind, body, spirit are clear channels for Love.

Day 22 EARTH Connecting with Your Body

I have high anticipation for this week!

The body assessment was amazing. There is so much that I AM doing to take care of my body. All the no answers didn't seem so relevant after realizing all that I am doing. I must begin to celebrate how I treat my body rather than beat myself up about it. My commitment is to do 30 seconds of free dance everyday - see that egg timer is coming in real handy!

Talking to my body today was great! I didn't pick a character for each body part -- too much work. I also didn't like the "wise old woman" idea as every time I thought of a character like that I ended up hearing yelling like my grandma use to yell at me: "Why are you doing that, what are you doing!" and so on...

So I picked Barack. He is my current HERO. A visionary, the voice of reason in politics and a laser-focused strategic thinker. Yes, my hero. Not since Trudeau have I heard any politician really straight talk it like Obama. So, he was my voice and man he had some fantastic things to say to me. Thanks Barack. I'll have you back to talk about my house anytime.
Come to think of it I actually did have a picture of him walking through the White House saying "...this rooms needs more of..." - each room was a different body part. Hmm.

I am one with the earth. I am one with my body.

Day 21 FIRE Fanning the Flame of your Creativity

How TOTALLY appropriate that I did my Reiki Level 1 training today! I felt my first energy ball today, it was amaaaaaaazing!!!!!

Left: How I felt in the present moment.
Centre: How I want to feel.
Right: The message from my soul "live large and go forth in the world"

Incredible creative life force flows through my entire being.

Day 20 FIRE Your Spiritual Allies

For me today is about something that I aspire to hold deeply within me.
Compassion.

The Charter for Compassion

I am a loving spiritual being.

Day 19 FIRE Facing your death / Embracing your life

I am not engaging with Fire week. I feel like it is "in my face". Like it is getting in the way of my own traditions and beliefs. So, I'm reading the chapters and understanding the basic principles and teachings like "Cherish your life and embrace your death." Yup, I can do that, have done that, am with the program on that no problem...but make a fire and do this and that, not working for me.
The Practice Dying exercise is calling me but another side of me is scared to try it. This is one I'll tag for the future. I think there will be great learning in this.

I live in the present moment with courage and love.

Day 18 FIRE Being Present / Saying Yes to Life

So, I'm not so keen on today's "sitting before a candle and inhaling the spirit"-thing.

In the Holy Quran, Chapter Ar-Rahmaan, 55:15, 15 it says:
He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire.

In the Islamic tradition we believe that there is an unseen form of life, made of fire that lives among us here on Earth. This life form, known as Jinn, are of varying faiths, some are Muslims some are not. They live in a parallel existence among the human race.

I've always lived with the belief that I live my life and they live theirs. I feel like sitting before a flame is like inviting something toward me that I have no right to interact with.

So, there you have it one Muslim's perspective.

As for being in the present moment. It was a lovely day for that. Dinner with a woman who I have a great deal of respect for, a creative wonderful woman whose friendship I am grateful for. Followed by coffee and dessert at the "just opened today" Mildred's Temple Kitchen. For you Torontonians out there who miss Mildred Pierce - she's baaack!

Day 17 FIRE Facing the Shadow

I learned today that the world welcomed this precious baby on our last day of water. There seems to be relevance in that, a birth in water week. I found out from his parents during our fire week his name - it is so appropriate.
Hei-Ming Musa, the two-character Chinese first name represents having an affinity and affection for light. Musa is the Arabic word for Moses. Musa (peace be upon him) is the Prophet who was drawn by the light of the burning bush and illuminated by the light of the niche of prophecy.

I had dinner today with a bright, passionate and wonderful woman who was sharing her dreams with me. One of her ideas is to start a cultural foundation - you go girl! Well, I can't give away her secrets but I can tell you the word "burning" was in the title of what she wants to do. It struck me immediately as being so significant and so inline with her own fire. Andreea, we send you fiery well wishes during fire week!

Now, to the day's events. I don't know if I found my shadow self today but I LOVED the should/could exercise. That's a keeper.

I unconditionally accept all parts of myself.

Day 16 FIRE Taking Risks

My favourite quote: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." - Sudden Death, Bantam Books, New York, 1983, p. 68. written by Rita Mae Brown.

This "changing it up thing" - Yah, that's all about who I am.

Fun - I do that, great tunes in the car on a long drive. Surfing on the web and finding things I love in the middle of critical crisis deadlines - I get out of my bubble.

Stepping out of my comfort zone - that's how to describe my life!

Break a habit - yeah, I'm all about that, I hate ruts.

Day 16 is a great day for me - easy breezy, beautiful!

I am free to experience joy in every moment...no matter what is happening in my life.
Amen to that sister!

Day 15 FIRE Confronting Fear / Developing Faith

I am afraid of:
reptiles, yuck
scary movies
toxins in my everyday life that I don't know about
cancer
losing my blessings because I was not grateful enough
losing faith
forgetting about God
making another mistake in love
not losing weight
deeply hurting someone or worse a loved one

The last one, that is my biggest fear. It would be hard to overcome knowing that I hurt my nephew, the precious life that I've been so blessed with. I fear that as he grows older that we may miscommunicate that I might hurt him. I hate that. What would I do if that were to happen? I don't know. I just don't know.

Day 14 WATER Releasing Victim Thinking / Choosing Your Life

I loved reading today's details in bed last night. When asked to create a noble question one came to mind IMMEDIATELY which I wrote right into the book:

How can I be more vibrant and strong?

This IS THE question, and this morning I know that I must honour it deeply as it is what my soul wants for me.

So, today, I live with this question and I report back to you tonight.

Must report now!

12:25 PM - chose Nia instead of sitting at my computer
1:25 PM - chose a luscious green apple instead of raisin toast with butter.
mmmmm-I'm loving this question - the day continues...
all afternoon - visitors, started laundry - and munched on unhealthy snacks at my computer - does that make me more vibrant and strong - no, it doesn't. Do I feel disempowered? Yes. How can I make myself feel vibrant and strong right now? I can take back control of how I feel. I can choose to feel differently. Yes!
I'm loving this question - the day continues...
6:00 PM - watching a movie, a period piece, a romance. I feel like I'm reigniting the romantic side of me that's been suppressed for so long. This is vibrant.
I'm loving this question - the day continues...
Today was a great day, so empowering, and empowering because with these intentional thoughts I can see clearly all the choices I have before me. To me, today's chapter made this abundantly clear. I loved it.

I read the transition pages to Fire Week, with the fires raging in California and our thoughts with all those who have lost their homes or in danger of it, I feel like entering fire week with great respect to its power to wipe clean and start anew. I'm looking forward to that...and praying for the victims of the fire in California.

who i am is enough just as i am

Day 13 WATER Attitude of Gratitude

My life is blessed and I am so grateful. Indeed. Indeed.

I arrived early this morning, about 9:10 AM, to my client's office. I'm working here 3 days a week for the next 6 weeks. They really need the support and I'm glad to help. I'm not in the business of offering temp services to companies, I really want to grow my business as a consulting practice, but this client and I have a great relationship, we trust each other, they need the help and I have the skills to do it for them right the first time. This client deserves that. They are decent, honest and hardworking people and I would do anything to support them. And...I feel genuinely appreciated - like they are grateful that I've come into their life - and I them, of course.

That's enough to be grateful for right? Well, in keeping with the major trend in my life there is more. SO much to be grateful for that I don't even know how to keep up with the thanks - right, good problem to have!

OK, back to my story. I walked in and set my computer and purse on my desk that is just next to the kitchenette. A few of the team members who work here full-time were talking about the lottery and what they would do with the money. They said, "I won't stop working, I'll just start my own firm." They went on to describe all the benefits of working on their own, flexible hours, having control of when they take time off - none of it was for money but for freedom.

I smiled a large smile to myself and said "I did it." I started my own firm. I've been in business for over a year now and I'm on track to pay off my start-up debt this year.

SO MUCH to be grateful for. This is my recurring prayer.

Dear God, you have blessed me so. Please guide me so that I never lose site of all that I have to be grateful for, for all that You have blessed me with and please please please show me the path that will lead me to doing the things I should be doing to help to spread these blessings for I know that when You are asked why? Why do You allow all this suffering in the world? You say "I have given you all that you need to eradicate the suffering in the world, it is up to you." Amen.

My life is blessed, and I am so grateful!

Day 12 WATER Being Still / Doing Nothing

One thing strikes me very hard today. THERE ARE NO BIRDS IN TORONTO IN NOVEMBER...STOP TALKING ABOUT THEM!!!

Oh, that feels good, finally got that one off my chest. I'll definitely have to visit Soul Coaching again in the spring when we actually have nature in our presence to communicate with us.

I don't know if this is laziness or inspiration. After reading Jamie's post where she admitted to not being still herself but knew that her Creative Spirit was still. It inspired this thought in me.

What is that core thing within me that is still or begging for stillness? Is it my faith in God that is still and solid that centre of my being that is still and peaceful? Is it my insecurities that are begging for stillness? I believe both are true. It's a nice thing to think about. I want to explore the things within me that are begging for stillness. Another activity for another day.

It's interesting to me how in this very anticipated water week I feel not disengaged but deferred somehow. I am a woman of action, deferring these explorations is curious to me. I'm going to be still with that thought too.

in the centre of my being, there is always stillness and peace

Day 11 WATER Exploring Your Relationships

Am I avoiding it? I am avoiding it. I'm avoiding the time it's going to take to go through the relationships and find the patterns. I feel like I need to complete the Level 3 homework from Day 8 to bring any meaning to Day 11.

I read Miss*R's post and she talks about feeling like she is not contributing to the process enough or thinking of the affirmations enough and I totally hear that! I too have felt disconnected from the process from time to time. But I do have hope. Hope that even reading the affirmations once the night before, once the morning of, and once while I do my nightly post is enough. Hope that to even be engaged with this process will bring some change and enlightenment. And so I am not defeated I know something will come from this, God willing.

I don't know so much about what patterns I exhibit in relationships. What I do know is that I've had people react to me in similar ways over the years. "Your pushy and very aggressive" that kind of feedback. Yes, not nice and not nice to hear time and again. I've dealt with that the last 18 months or so. I worked hard to understand how I communicate and I've changed the way I approach things. The more passionate side of me comes out a little at a time and I've developed better empathy skills and overall I feel like that pattern in broken.

My learning for the day - for the week so far?

I've not had an emotional week because I haven't delved into the hard stuff, the detailed journaling, the noting of how it would feel and all that. I feel like it needs to be done. I don't feel ready to do it. I do know where to find it. In Day 8, Level 3 and in Day 11. I can come back to this, in time, when I'm ready and that's great!

Ah, that feels good.

I am loved and lovable. I love deeply and fully, and I am loved deeply and fully.

DAY 10 WATER What are your Energy Zappers and Juicers?

Day 10, at first I thought: Oh, no huge revelations today, hmmm, OK. Disappointed I prepared to scan my art of the day and pull up a new post in my blog account and then it came to me. Perhaps it's because I'm Pisces, a water sign, or perhaps just because I'm made this way - I realized in the moment that I have ALWAYS been keenly aware of zappers and juicers.
Before I go on I just want to address those two words. To me the word zappers is energetic and vibrant, I would have preferred "downers" or some such thing. And the word juicers does not work for me either. It feels like a juicer should be something that I'd like to squeeze until it's turned into a mush of something, like juicing an orange. I would have preferred "uppers". Well, I know the two terms I'm suggesting are slang for substances, even still I think the energy of the words matches the meaning we are giving to it in this exercise. From now on I'm going to refer the them as z's and j's.

Moving on to my learning...My whole life I have always been keenly aware of z's and j's in every aspect of my life. People, yes! Things, yes! (I think that lead to a number of years of shopoholicism in my 20's!!) Rooms, yes! Houses, yes! Thoughts, yes! Words, yes!

Here's an example:
My brother is exploring a career change right now and said one outside possibility is teaching. My Dad fired back "you need a P
h.D." Immediately and without hesitation I fired back to him "way to put a damper on things Dad!" I'm 45, he's 73. Yes, parent/child communication NEVER changes. Then he proceeded to defend his negative and discouraging position and I said (very loudly). "AMERICA JUST ELECTED A BLACK PRESIDENT - ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!"

So, yes, I would say I am a great z and j radar and I eradicate the z's and celeb
rate, enliven and make the j's happen larger than life.

Life should be like that!

Here are some pictures from my lovely home. I bought this home and lived here in the US Midwest for a couple of years while I had one of those stressful corporate jobs. This home was a capital J for the entire glorious time I was blessed to lived there. I called this my healing home and it sat proudly on Mulberry Street!

I am moving into harmony with everyone and everything in the universe.

Day 9 WATER Examining the Meaning that you give your Life

Ooh, lots of stuff happening today for me. First, I feel like with every glass of water I drink (the action) there is a reaction - a dumping of toxins from my body~'nuff said!

That's my water jug and glass, they have a permanent station on my desk. I drink as much water as possible.

Second, I got my egg timer, yeah! I did my 5 min with my body and 2 min doing the zen teacup exercise. It's so much easier with the timer!

Third, I went to a Nia class tonight, yeah! With every movement of the arms I imagined I was standing in water up to my hips and sweeping my arms through the water and over my head. It was beautiful imagery and I really enjoyed dancing tonight!

Now, on to the book!

For my cleanse today, two things. First, I took a very late night shower. I didn't come up with this before or during the shower but when I think of that late night shower I think: I am washing away what is behind me and inviting what is before me into my life. Second, I didn't want to just clean up clutter. I wanted to cleanse with water. So, I wiped down the electric baseboard heater in my home office. While I did it I said: I am inviting warmth and efficiency into my life.

my life experiences have positive powerful meanings

Day 8 WATER Exploring the Turning Points in Your Life

The water on my alter is a brilliant emerald green today.

I'm Pisces. I find comfort in water. This is going to be a very special week.

This was a very special exercise. I found that when I thought of the pivotal moments in my life they all, except for 3, were negative things, break ups, divorce, job loss.

What was beautiful and encouraging was to see my transformation in Level 1 and my learnings in Level 2.

Level 1 - note the decision you made about life at that time:

Life is what is served to you, not what you make of it (15 years old)

Life is unfair & devastating (19 years old)

Life can go on (29 years old)

Life's shit, deal with it (37 years old)

You make life it doesn't make you (43 years old)

My responsibility is to making my life because no one else is accountable for it. I alone am accountable for my life (44 years old)

Level 2 - what did you learn during each of those times:

I can be sad yet still forge ahead.

I was trapped between cultures for 40 years!

No matter how far I'm pushed down I find strength and recover from it. I AM STRONG. ARRRRRGH!

Compassion

Self Respect

To give importance only to those who deserve it.

To end all I can say is this: "May I be blessed with the ability to carve out the time I so desire to get to Level 3 - I know the result will be delicious!"

I unconditionally accept my feelings...and what I feel is not who I am.

Day 7 to 8 - A Transition

There is something surfacing for me as we leave air and enter water - as I leave the clutter of my mind and enter my emotions. Perhaps my emotions are embodied both within my mind and my body?

At a spiritual discussion last night I learned that in the Islamic tradition it is believed that our bodies will bear witness against us on the Day of Judgment. All the more reason to listen to my body, to support and cherish it, nurture it and let it converse freely with my mind rather than allowing my mind to be in control as the ruling class over my body.

Perhaps all my emotions are embodied in my body? Perhaps that is why I feed my emotions because I embody them in my body. That is a safe place to keep them. My logical mind, my linear uncluttered mind likes to keep my emotions in the body, they are distant there, in another place. And, anytime the emotions have anything to share or express, well they are suppressed with - you go it - none other than food.

Ah ha, so that's how it works for me.

If my body were to bear witness on me today what will it say?
  • she has shown no compassion toward us
  • when we were hurt she did not respond
  • when we were stressed, heavy and tired she ignored us
  • when we felt tired, lethargic and sore she didn't hear our calls
  • we were enslaved to her needs only
  • she does not see us as one, we feel she sees herself as "the one" and us, the body, as the annoying aspect of herself
  • the paradox is if the annoying aspect is able to disappear then so will she, one cannot live without the other
If my body were to bear witness on me tomorrow what will it say?
  • she is compassionate and heeds our call every time we reach out
  • she nurtures and cherishes us and we will nurture and cherish her as we together grow old
  • she respects what we bring to her life and never takes us for granted
  • we support her and she support us by listening and responding and making time for our needs as we make time for her needs
  • neither of us every wishes for the other to disappear
I wonder, can the two, me and my body, come together and speak as one voice?

Day 7 AIR Exploring Your Soul Mission in Life

This day feels like it will stay with me forever. A work in progress. An exploration that I don't want to end. So, to support this journey this is what I've written in my journal.

Listen to the whispers of the universe.

If this event had a message for my life what would it be? (I've left room to list down things as they occur in my life so I can go back and ruminate on the answer.)

Why Am I Here? Find the answers in the things that happen around me. (I've left room to list down the things that happen around me.)

The purpose of my life is: (I've listed two things so far and have left room to list other things as they come to mind for me.)

The purpose of my life is to help people understand how it is that they are so special and important.
The purpose of my life is to help people see their uniqueness and celebrate it and use it to advance in any way they want.

The Collage - I created my shopping list for the collage.
  • new marker pens
  • new magazines
  • framed canvass or board
  • paint!
  • paintbrushes
WHO I AM IS ENOUGH

Day 6 AIR Lightening Up -- Letting Go While Doing More Clutter-Clearing

The only 15 mins I could find to empty my mind was at Midnight when I lay in my bed and focused on empty and not on thoughts. What happened? I fell asleep for 7 hours! The body rules.
I'm going to adopt 2 mins of zen teacup practice at the end of my 5 mins a day with my body. I have to get an egg timer!
In a week and especially on a day when Level 1 practice was about as far as it was going to go I ventured to read Level 2 and 3 for Day 6 and realized quickly I've been doing some of that, so here it is.

Level 2 - time for joy
About 2 months ago I hired an organizational consultant to help me with my life - launching a small business and taking on every single responsibility was not going well. He helped me to realize that scheduling was not creating barriers but giving me the freedom to do what I wanted when I wanted - ahh, there is freedom in slavery! What I thought would be a system that would stifle my creative being ended up serving me in ways I hadn't imagined. I turned things down, quit things and now I do what I want free from the clutter of what's not so great.

Level 3 - back up and clear up
I am opening space within myself for remarkable mental clarity and focus -- with everything I release, more energy, more love, more abundance comes my way.
I am learning to really appreciate my "anal ways". I am so good at clearing out last year's bills from all my files on January 1. Stuffing them in large envelopes that are clearly marked or clipping them with binder clips and storing them safely away for 7 years. Every year I shred one year's worth of files. Every two days (or three) I do a full back up of my computer, like clock work. My computer crashed once, totally gone, everything. I had everything up and running like normal again in 4 hours. Oh what a relief it is!

I am SAFE and CENTERED no matter where I am.

Day 5 AIR Clutter -- Energy Up/Energy Down

I started Day 5 when the seasons changed without knowing it! I gave away many many clothes. Finally letting go of items I'd been hanging on because...well, I don't know why. What did I say to myself everytime I picked up yet another piece of clothing I had stored away neatly for 5 years?
"This is from another lifetime."
...and poof, it was gone!
I gave all my clothes, expensive and old, used and slightly new everything to one woman who's sister in Trinidad is my size. She donates everything she can't use or send back home to a woman's shelter in Scarborough. It was a good feeling. And...guess what. I have a closet FULL of clothes that I'm wearing and I don't miss anything I've given away.

Level 1
Time enough only for Level 1 today I closed my eyes and walked myself through my bedroom and office - my two private spaces where I'm living right now and I'm pleased and thrilled to report ENERGY UP on everything, yeah!!!

Fresh Invigorating Energy Fills My Life!

Day 4 AIR Where are you now in your life?

I'm in a beautiful place.

Every sentence at the start of this chapter reflected back to me the work I've been doing with my coach the last 18 months. It was beautiful.

I was hesitant to do two postings in one day but when I read through Day 4 and realized I've been observing myself keenly through coaching I knew I had something to learn and share.

My coach and I discussed compliments today. I don't take them very well and always felt like a barrier was being placed before me with each compliment I would receive. I learned today that a compliment is someone's way of connecting to me. Reaching out with something warm and inviting in their hearts. I learned that what people admire about me may be an area of stress or challenge for them and that I should be humbled by their gift, not see it as a barrier-building-move.

With every session, with every willingness on my part to look within I become the Sacred Observer. I like that.

I love and accept who I am...and who I am is enough.

Day 3 AIR Clearing the Clutter

No Art Today. I'm catching up - two days of Soul Coaching in one day - eeks! I was out of town so I totally missed out on Day 3. I'm saddened by it because your comments are so inspiring and wise, so wise!!!

I LOVE this day - this is truly a Romana day. All my drawers and all my closets are ALWAYS clean - there is a place for everything. It's the surfaces that get messed up. Especially the one above, it was getting under my feet - for days! Clothes and shoes strewn about in front of my bedroom closet door, uggh! I wasn't taking the moment that I would need to just put it all away. I did it today!

Day 3 is a welcome welcome light change for me from the heavy duty Days 1 and 2.

There IS clarity within me and around me!

Day 2 AIR Making a Commitment to Change Your Life

First thing's first. One of my "one step gaps" was to engage in things more creatively. Seeing the gap and simultaneously being so inspired by the sketches and drawings in this book blogging group's journals, I decided today to draw my image for my posting rather than trying to find an image to use. It may be weird or terrible but it was what my mind was calling me to draw and that's good enough for me!

My daily commitment is to
spend 5 minutes a day with my body in quiet contemplation.

My values are:What I have been putting off is:
  1. living a healthier more nourishing life - I'm literally talking about food here.
  2. visioning: researching and visioning for my business in a consistent and measured and planned way - don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds, I LOVE this stuff!
  3. reading, finding time to read books that will feed my soul and my intellect
My feasible plan for each:
  1. To make better choices, live by my values and know that I respect my body and have compassion for it, that I believe that it will serve my throughout my life, to have the patience to let it transform and be the way it wants. To live with my body in joy. To finally honour reciprocity and give to it as it gives to me everyday without question without resistance. To be responsible for it, to not take this responsibility lightly and honour this responsibility I have been given. To take action everyday to do what my body is longing for and to always be aspiring to being more connected and living more in honour of that which helps me exist. My body. - What's feasible about this? A state of mind, an ability to see my values manifest themselves in my relationship with my body. That's pretty feasible. What's more feasible? I begin today. If I am able to live by this commitment my consequence is a day of beauty - an entire day in shops, museum, galleries and all the places I've wanted to go in Toronto and have been putting off for so long!
  2. Visioning - I do this. I fit it in, here and there. I am making a commitment to a day of visioning for Studio Pinpoint today. Wednesday December 10th. I am to be in a client's office that day but this date is speaking to me and I will have to reschedule the client. I will bring together the beautiful people and minds that have helped me shape what is today Studio Pinpoint and we will together create a brighter vision for this company that is changing the business context we know (and don't love so much)!
  3. I will take the time that I have so lovingly carved out for Soul Coaching and use it for reading and feeding my mind - this time will forever be with me to feed my soul, my intellect and my desires.
I honour my commitments to myself and to others.

Day 1 AIR Life Assessment

Today I cleared the cobwebs over the washer and dryer in the basement. Years they've been there. Today I just did it.

I liked the "Bridging the Breach" exercise and saw that my breaches, my gaps are not that bad.
My one step gaps are:

  • putting needs of others before my own
  • get to "rarely" with irritation
  • feel less overwhelmed
  • feel more joy/enthusiasm
  • engage more creatively (in anything I do)
  • inner peace (I intend to always be one step away from this one: as you move to the next step then the following step of inner peace reveals itself to you)
  • relation with the creator - same as inner peace, you're never there, always one step away.
My two step gaps are:
  • self esteem
  • relations with friends
My one leap gap is physical health.

My huge leap is: relation with lover - I guess that's a huge leap because I don't have one yet!!!

Then 'my home' exercise was very telling as many of my responses were "no". The exercise confirmed something I realized very recently. It's time for me to leave my parent's home where I squirreled myself away to start a business. The business has wings now and it's time to move back into my own space. To this question: "If my home were an exterior representation of aspects of me and my life, what would it say about me?"
I responded: I am not living my life...I am living a shared life.

My evaluation of myself is not who I am.

...with peace love and joy, your journey sister Romana

Introduction: Creating our Space

My altar is a very personal representation of me, who I am, what's made me strong, my influences, and, I was also able to include the four elements: earth, wind, fire and water. This is my altar:
  • My spiritual influence and guide is my faith. I find beauty in Islam, in its recognition and respect for all the Abrahamic traditions. It is the last revelation and it honors, recognizes and embraces the teachings of all the great Prophets, may peace be upon them all.
  • My mother is my earth. I come from her and I go back to her when I die. So significant to me is the rose shaped candle holder in the front. Hand made by my mother from the earth (clay), fired by her and holding fire. My spiritual leader, my supporter, my source of never never ending love.
  • The white patterned box cover on the left is a modern-day interpretation of the art of my heritage - Islamic Art, art from India, beautiful forms, geometric shapes - all inlaid with mother of pearl - a material of the earth.
  • The stone, also of the earth is a recent addition to my life. The word "belief" engraved on it, given to me by a soul sister inspiring me to believe in myself because she knew "I could". The butterflies is the connection to air, controlled in it and beautiful because of it.
  • The water in the low wide vessel, it was the shape of the vessel and not the material that moved me. I don't know why I chose to color the water green - perhaps I'll find out on this journey.
  • The statue - my strength, my fortitude. Awarded to me by an employer for exceptional performance, beyond expectations and breaking every record in the history of the company - a plastic man with a special past!
  • Finally, the newest addition to my special influences - my certificate of completion for my white belt training in Nia - a movement practice that reconnected me to my body and my life.
Let the journey begin!
